Penneagle Puts More Balance in the Short Game
Feb. 1, 2004 - SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA - A revolutionary new line of putters is hitting the greens coast to coast. Penneagle Golf made its debut with its new line of putters at the 2004 PGA Merchandise Show. Tour professionals and industry buyers were astounded by the solid feel and true roll of the new technology.
Created by golf entrepreneur Tim Durnin, the technologically advanced TPD Series takes a three-dimensional product design approach to weight distribution. The design objective was to create maximum performance using the most sophisticated materials available in the world. The TPD Series features the Oppositional Weighting System™ (OWS) and strategic alignment guides.
"For the TPD Series we combined technology and optics to create optimal balance and unparalleled accuracy. Superior function drove every decision," said Durnin, president of Penneagle Golf. "Each TPD putter features six different strategically positioned inserts that combine heel toe and lateral balance for a higher moment of inertia, increased forgiveness, and a truer roll. The TPD series by Penneagle truly delivers 'Balanced Accuracy.'"
In addition to weight distribution the Iball and V-site alignment guides make visualizing the target line a natural step at setup and address. The Iball approximates the size and shape of a golf ball, while the V-site creates a vertical line to assist in squaring the putter to the target line.
The TPD Series has taken more than two years to develop and has gone through several prototypes and clinical trials with tour professionals to ensure proper weight distribution and optical performance. The OWS, Iball and V-Site have multiple patented and patent-pending features that are critical success factors to the overall design and performance never seen before in the golf industry.
With the TPD series, Penneagle has taken technology to a new level, and by doing so, has created a putter for players of all levels.
