Custom Fitting Options

  1. Length of Putter
  2. Lie Angle (upright or flat)
  3. Loft (increase or decrease face angle)
  4. Grip size
  5. Swing-weight
  1. Penneagle putters range between 33 inches to 36 inches, and your proper length is determined by your stance at address.
    • Too short of a shaft will cause excess bending resulting in an improper stance. This will restrict smoothness of the putting stroke.
    • Too long of a shaft will result in a stance that is too upright, thereby, taking your eyes back and away from the proper sight-line which should be directly over the ball.

  2. Penneagle putters have a lie angle of 71 degrees. At address your eyes should be directly aligned over the ball. In this position the putter should be flat on the ground directly behind your ball and square to the target line.
    • If, at normal address, you find that the putter is not perfectly flat at its set-up position, you may need a club fitting professional to adjust the lie of your putter.

  3. Penneagle Golf putters have a loft range from 4 to 5 degrees. Our research and Swing Dynamics computer testing has proven this to be the best loft, providing the best launch angle and truest roll.
    • If you have an excessive forward press you may be de-lofting the putter face causing the ball to skid on impact. The loft angle of your putter can be adjusted by a club fitting professional.

  4. Penneagle grips are Tour Velvet Special by Golf Pride in standard size. Ideally, a proper grip size suppresses any action or movement of the wrists in the putting motion and promotes a purer pendulum-like stroke.
    • If you have excessive wrist action in your putting stroke, you may consider using a larger than standard grip. There are many grips on the market and each possesses a different feel. Choose one that meets your personal preferences.

  5. Swing-weight is the relationship between the weight of the grip end of the club and head end. Penneagle putters are made with the ideal swing-weight to optimize control, balance and stability. This aids in keeping the putter-head square throughout your stroke and minimizes twisting or turning.
    • Note relating to swing-weight: Because swing-weight is a function of the length of the putter's shaft, swing weights may vary slightly from one putter to another. A club fitting professional can make adjustments to alter swing weight to suit your preference and comfort zone.
